Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Server DBA to manage, maintain, and optimize our Microsoft SQL Server database environments. The ideal candidate will have 6–8 years of hands-on experience in database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high availability solutions.
Key Responsibilities
◼ Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances across development, testing, and production environments.
◼ Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to ensure optimal performance.
◼ Manage database security, roles, and permissions to ensure data integrity and compliance.
◼ Perform regular backups and recovery operations, and implement disaster recovery strategies.
◼ Design and implement high availability solutions including clustering, replication, and Always On Availability Groups.
◼ Automate routine database tasks using PowerShell or T-SQL scripts.
◼ Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application deployments and troubleshoot issues.
◼ Maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and standards.
Desired Experience & Qualification
◼ Candidates should have a B.E./B.Tech/MCA/MBA in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field
◼ 6–8 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
◼ Strong expertise in SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 administration.
◼ Proficiency in T-SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization.
◼ Experience with backup/recovery tools and disaster recovery planning.
◼ Familiarity with monitoring tools like SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, and third-party solutions.
◼ Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
◼ Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar certification will be a plus.
◼ Experience with cloud-based SQL Server deployments (Azure SQL, AWS RDS).
◼ Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
◼ Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
◼ Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
◼ Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders and provide clear updates.
◼ Must possess good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
